Cynthia Strem - Chinook Winds Chorus

Cynthia’s Sweet Adeline life commenced with her arrival at Chinook Winds Chorus in 2004.  For many who come to Sweet Adelines, it can take a while for their personality to emerge, but once she got started - WOW!!

She was a quiet younger person who slipped into the Lead section easily, but we soon found out she could also sing Tenor!  Cynthia’s music skills wove into the fabric of the chorus, and soon we began to see potential Director skills, a Quartet singer, a Section Leader, a Management Team candidate.  The list went on and on.

Shortly after joining the Chorus, Cynthia auditioned for an MC spot on our annual show and a STAR emerged! The moment she clipped on that fake hair from the Harmony Bazaar, she became inspirationally transformed.  It was like watching a Master Class in the art of performing, and the pace hasn’t slowed for the last 20 years.

Her formidable spirit was a driving force that kept us moving in a forward direction during COVID, and for that we are forever grateful.

Cynthia has an incredibly generous nature that she shares abundantly with friends, family and her fellow Sweet Adelines – at many levels. She currently serves on Chinook Winds’ Management Team, Music Team, many committees, and is a Certified Director.  Her work on behalf of the Regional Management Team is also appreciated.

Cynthia regularly opens her home for a variety of Chorus activities. Her family has weathered a revolving door of practices, coaching, sewing bees, craft sessions, meetings, and many Harmony Classic viewing parties.

She is a ceaseless volunteer, supporting a plethora of Sweet Adelines activities, and is always eager to tackle new challenges that come her way.
