Carol Poole Spirit of 26 Nomination 2023 - Lori Slack

Chinook Winds Chorus is elated to present Lori Slack as our Carol Poole Spirit of 26 nominee.

Lori’s musical journey began many years ago. She completed Grade 9 piano, played in two bands and sang in 3 choirs during high school. She acted in community theatre as a young adult, and then continued playing piano and singing for her own joy and pleasure while working and raising two active, amazing children.

We are Very Proud that the nomination of Karen Saxby was made and Unanimously Accepted by the membership of CWSC.  She is a "what would we do without her and hope we never have to fine out"  person.  Congratulations Karen from us all!!!  

Karen has always loved music.

Over the years, she has played percussion and Saxophone in the Naval Reserve Band, the Calgary Fire Departments Band and the University of Calgary Student Band. 

You have to leave the city of your comfort and go into the wilderness of your intuition.  What you'll discover will be wonderful. What you'll discover is yourself.

5 ½ years ago we were fortunate to meet Wendy, who seemed enthralled with our Music and our Welcome and settled right in.  It became apparent that Wendy was the true definition of a Life Long Learner who gravitated to any and all education and performance opportunities available.   Part of that learning was standardizing our music documents, updating learning tracks and developing paths which made maneuvering the Music maze easier for all singers.
