You have to leave the city of your comfort and go into the wilderness of your intuition.  What you'll discover will be wonderful. What you'll discover is yourself.

5 ½ years ago we were fortunate to meet Wendy, who seemed enthralled with our Music and our Welcome and settled right in.  It became apparent that Wendy was the true definition of a Life Long Learner who gravitated to any and all education and performance opportunities available.   Part of that learning was standardizing our music documents, updating learning tracks and developing paths which made maneuvering the Music maze easier for all singers. Read on for the rest of the story.

Wendy has acted in the role of Assistant Section Leader, Section Leader (of three different sections),  joined the Directing Staff in 2019, attained Certified Director Status in 2020.  Music Education programs, Nationally and Internationally,  including one in New Zealand (via Zoom) contributed to education that filtered down to the Chorus. Quartet singing led to receiving a group Novice Quartet Award! To further broaden the scope of education a 2 year dual Membership with Vocal Motion resulted in earning medals at Regional and International level.

Further to the above Wendy expanded Leadership wings by Co-hosting a day long course for Chorus Leaders, as well as presenting educational classes at Chorus retreats and most recently, created a Zoom guide for Chorus membership.

Technologically, research made Wendy familiar with programs, which gave Us an advantage in these unprecedented times, has mastered, to our advantage, the program Audacity (a software application for recording and editing audio) and Finale (one of the Industry standards for music notation software), and has taught herself to create learning tracks of Professional Quality. Wendy is now entered in the Music Arrangers Certification Program.

The advent of remote rehearsals has added the challenge further to Master tracks for Virtual Chorus Projects and Virtual Riser Rehearsals so we don’t forget what it will be like when we can sing together again.  Wendy's recent secret project is to teach interested singers a “challenge song” to test everyone's skills.

We are honored and awed to work with and sing with Wendy and  look forward to continued ………“Singing in the Key of Joy”.
