The most successful people in absolutely any walk of life know that the secret to their good fortune comes only through dedication, perseverance and diligence. There is no such thing as a short cut that excludes hard work. Byron Pulsifer

Chinook Winds Show Chorus is proud to have Madeleine Ingram as our Spirit of 26 representative. She celebrated her 25th Sweet Adelines anniversary last year and has been an incredible asset to our Chorus both on and off the risers throughout her membership. Her wonderful voice, volunteer spirit, dependability, enthusiasm, and willingness to share her knowledge and talents make Madeleine an excellent example of what the Spirit of 26 Award is all about.

Chinook Winds Show Chorus has been part of my life since I joined in 1992. At the time, I had no idea what four part harmony was about but have since learned and now I love it. I sing with the Lead section and continue to really enjoy it. I have loved music since I was a child. I grew up in a large family and I was involved in tap dancing, playing the piano, and singing with my sisters and brothers in our church choir for a number of years. I also sang in junior high and high school choirs. Joining Chinook Winds started another part of my life. Between being married to my husband Jim, singing with the chorus, and working full time while raising our two sons, my life and my husband’s was very busy. I became a pitch person with the Chorus and have been the Pitch Chair for a number of years. Over the years, I also have been a member of the Music Team, riser buddy for new members, Coffee Chair, member of the Costume Committee, as well as volunteering for various events, working at our casino days, administering the selling of Co-op cards as a fundraiser for our chorus, tape listener and I help new members learn their music. One chorus highlight that I will always remember was when we proudly represented Region 26 at the 1995 International Competition in New Orleans. What a thrill to represent Canada! I also value the many friends I have met during my time with Chinook Winds Show Chorus. I LOVE Sweet Adelines!
